Overall, it is clear that there are an increase in the percentage of home owner and a total of million homes, while a downward trend was seen in the number of social housing and social renting. However, private renting stayed unchanged. In addition, home owner had highest figures whereas the opposite was true with social housing throughout the period shown.
The number of home owner started at 60% in 1991 with a total of 22 million homes, after which it experienced a slight upward trend in 2007 with a total of 27 million homes. In addition, there was no change recorded in data of private renting in the same period.
Starting at 6% in a total of 22 million homes in 1991, social housing rented declined mildly by 4% in 2007 in a total of 27 millon homes. In the same way, social renting observed a moderate reduce from 23% in 1991 to 17% in 2007.
