It can clearly be seen that among the various studies, fitness and dance remain the same over the years, while modern language enthusiasts display a downward trend in interest over the years. Moreover, modern studies such as IT have taken the place of subjects such as local history and musical appreciation as a new popular demand. However, courses like Art and cookery have always shared a relatively stable number of interested students in both years.
In 1985, students studying modern languages such as French, German, and Spanish had the highest percentage of participants, with 24%. This was followed by Fitness and dance, being the second favorable subject that year with a recorded 22%. Courses like Art, local History, and cookery also had their fair share of participants interested in it with 17%, 15%, and 14% respectively. However, Music appreciation recorded the least proportion of interested students with only 8% in 1985.
This year only offers 5 various courses, which are the same familiar courses as before, minus local history and music appreciation, which recorded the lowest number of interested participants. These courses were replaced with a new modern subject, IT in the prospects of interesting new students. As a result, IT recorded the highest percentage of students with 27%, followed by Fitness and dance in the second place with 22%. In contrast, Modern languages and Art students saw a downward trend in the number of participants, while cookery enthusiasts increased by 5% this year.
Overall, the education centre offers a wide variety of subjects that are tailored to a specific era, allowing students to explore diverse studies. While Subjects like Modern languages were more popular in 1985, Courses such as IT have taken their place of fame for a more demanding new audience. Subsequently, subjects such as fitness and dance have always been popular and therefore displayed stability in numbers over the years. Moreover, other courses like art and cookery are still in demand and have their cult fans.
