The pie chart illustrates the percentages of students taking various courses at an adult education centre in 1985 and this year. It is evident that as the years go by, a shift in interest happened resulting is some of the courses no longer being offered.
Fitness and dance, art, cookery, and modern languages are some of the courses still remaining this year, with most of them experiencing either an increase or decrease in percentages. The one exception is fitness and dance, which remains at 22%. A decrease in percentages can be seen happening to both art and modern languages, with the former decreasing by two percent, from 17% to 15%, while the latter experiences a much more significant decrease, going down by seven percent, from 24% to 17%. Meanwhile, cookery is the only subject that experiences an increase, going up from 14& to 19%.
Both music appreciation and local history are no longer available this year and is instead replace with IT. In 1985, both of these subjects had lower percentage rates, with the former at only eight percent and the latter at 15%. On the other hand, in current years, IT has the highest percentage rate at 27%.
