The pie charts illustrates the changes in students’ preference between different courses provided by an adult education center in two years, 1985 and this year.
Overall, it is evident that in 1985, modern languages together with fitness and dance are the two most popular courses, whereas the opposite was true for music appreciation. Interestingly, in this year, both music and history courses are replaced by IT, which also shows the greatest figure of attendance.
Taking a closer look into the given charts, the percentage of participants in modern languages, which was the highest figure in 1985, experienced a decline from nearly a quarter to 17%. Likewise, attendance of the art course also decreased slightly from 17% to 15%. The reported figure of fitness and dance course remained unchanged over the researched period, stably staying at 22% as the second most popular course.
The percentage of attendance in cookery course showed an upward trend over the period, rising from 15% to 19%. At the beginning of the period, the course in local history received 15% of attendance, which nearly doubled the figure of music appreciation course. However, after the reported period, both of these courses were replaced by IT, which demonstrated a staggeringly high figure at 27% to become the most preferable course among all.
