Overall, we can see that the winner in both 2003 and 2008 was thriller, even though there was a slight decrease in two years. Whereas comedy still remained the lowest figure from 2003 to 2008 and was the smallest contributor in both charts.
In the year 2003, there was largest fracion at 42% by thriller, making it become Oscar winner in this year. Besides that, documentary and action film also contributed a significant percentage in total chart at 13%. However, some film gerne such as romance, science fiction and horror maintained in medium figures at 12%, 10% and 7% respectively. Howerver, by some reasons, comedy became the lowest contributor at 3% in this year.
By 2008, the chart showed the slight changes in total percentages of Oscar winner by film genre. There was a decrease of thriller, but still a largest figure at 35%. Documentary increased rapidly at 17% comparing to 13% in 2003, making it the second percentage in the pie chart. In addition, there was the similarity between romance and action at 12%. Furthermore, some contributor was still in the low percentage such as science fiction and horror film at 11% and 10% respectively. Despite the significant changes of other figures, comedy still remained the smallest percentage at 3% that did not differ to the original year 2003.
