The two pie charts illustrate how frequently 15-year-old boys and girls, who are the members of the Parkview Secondary School track and field team, smoke.
Overall, the majority of both genders do not have this habit. It is also clear that their lowest percentages smoke one time per week minimum.
Regarding boys, those who never smoke record the largest proportion, 71 percent, as opposed to their counterparts, the figure of whom is about 10 times lower and accounts for 7 percent. In comparison, there is almost a fifth (17 percent) of boys who smoke daily. The share of boys who smoke at least once a week is the smallest, at 5 percent.
With respect to girls, the proportion of non-smokers constitutes roughly two-thirds (68 percent), which is around eleven times larger than the percentage of their peers who smoke less than once a week (6 percent). This contrasts with the corresponding percentage of girls smoking on a daily basis that registers 21 percent. One in twenty girls smoke one time per week, showing the lowest share.
