The pie charts provide comparisons of people from distinct age groups using three apps namely Facebook, Youtube and Twitter.
Overall, Users from the younger adult group (18-49) constitute the majority of users across all the three platforms. While Twitter is the most popular platform among the youngest adult group (18-34), Youtube and Facebook make up for a higher percentage of users from older adult categories (50+).
While the youngest adult group (18-34) dominated Twitter’s chart at 40%, it makes up for lower proportions in Facebook and Youtube at 29% and 26%, respectively. Moreover, Regarding users aged from 35 to 49 years old, Facebook is the largest category, at 30%, followed closely by the identical figures for Youtube and Twitter at 29%. Additionally, the teenage group (10-17) accounts for a lower proportion, at around 15% of Facebook and Youtube users and only 9% of that of Twitter.
By contrast, the figures for people aged more than 50 constitute the lowest rate. It is noticeable that there were one fifth of elderly people using Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. Furthermore, the proportion of elderly Youtube users (65+) is 10%, compared to only 8% and 4% in the figures for Facebook and Twitter.
