Overall, it is obvious that the majority of sections all records the similar consumption trend that the least percentage of water is used for domestic purpose, whereas agriculture takes the lead in water use, apart from North America and Europe, which prioritise industrial purpose.
In terms of North America and Europe, which record the largest percentage of water used for industry, different from the other parts of the world. Regarding North America, industrial purpose constitutes 48% of the overall use, followed by 39% for agriculture and only 13% for household use. In terms of Europe, the proportion of water distributed to industrial use is over a half, at 53%, 32% for agriculture and merely 15% for domestic use.
Meanwhiles, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia give a priority of over 80% for agricultural use, solely 7 to 9 percent of domestic purpose and 5 to 12% in industrial aspect. Nevertheless, there is a marginal difference in the water allocation in South Amercia, with 71% for farming, approximately 10% less than the other 3 given sections. In addition, there is 10% of water amount used for industry, and noticeably 19% for family use, which is the largest of the six.
