The pie charts detail the distribution of goods exported from different EU countries to India and China in 2000 and 2011. Overall, it is noticeable that India imported the greatest percentage of goods from the United Kingdom and Germany in 2000 and 2011, respectively. However China got its goods mostly from Germany in both years.
To be more specific, the United Kingdom sent out 29% of its goods to India in 2000. However, it experienced a drastic decrease to 13% in 2011. The second largest exporter was Belgium, accounting for 25% of total exports to India. It faced a small decrease. Another major exporting country was Germany which captured 15% of all sent out goods and it rose significantly (25%) throughout the next 11 years. Sweden, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, France and other countries covered about 2-10% of the total proportion of all shipped out goods to India and these proportions were very similar for 2011. On the other hand, only a small minority 1% left for Austria.
Regarding China, Germany was the leading exporter throughout both years 2000 and 2011. France was the second largest trading partner of China (13%) while it slightly dropped to 10% in 2011. Italy, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Finland experienced a small decline approximately from 9% to 2%. The proportion of goods imported from the remaining countries grew slowly, regardless of Austria and Belgium’s standing stable at 2% and 5%, respectively.
