Looking into more details, 14% of Facebook users are youngsters between the ages of 10 and 17, which is less marginally than that of YouTube (15%), and in terms of Twitter, it comprises approximately one in ten (9%). Fewer people aged between 50 and 64 prefer to use Twitter (18%) compared to YouTube (20%) and Facebook (19%), while Facebook is opted for by twice as many individuals over the age of 65 as opposed to Twitter, with the former being 8% and the latter being 4%. Additionally, the platform of YouTube is used by 10% of people in this age group.
Turning to the most active age groups regarding their use of social media platforms, the proportion of 18-34 and 35-49-year-old adult Facebook users makes up 29 and 30, respectively. The former age group has the highest percentage of Twitter users, with two fifths (40%), while 26% of this group choose to use YouTube. Moreover, the percentage of people in the latter age group takes up roughly a third (29%) of both using YouTube and Twitter.
