The pie charts illustrate the personal matters of passengers to fly from four airports specifically in Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted Airport during 2016.
Overall, most of the individual travel due to holiday season and to visit their family and friends in four distinct airports, whereas the other purposes accounted for a lower percentage.
Focusing on Gatwick airport, the main reason for passengers arriving on this platform was to enjoy holiday season at 54%. 30% of people cited visiting family and friends as their intention. The main objective of 14% of citizens was business related, while 2% travelled from other reason.
For Heathrow airport, the main goal of passengers was to visit their family and friends which accounted for 37%. In addition, 32% was due to holiday. The primary motivation of 20% was due to business matter, henceforth, 4% for other goal.
Regarding Luton and Stansted airport, which acquired almost the same proportion for each category. Visiting family and friends is the highest share of percentage in both remaining airports with approximately 50% and 48%. Followed by, holiday amounting to 35% and 36%. Meanwhile, business premises was remained third priority with roughly 13% and 14%. Finally, other purposes was less significant with only 2% for both airports.
