This chart demonstrates the percentage of use water for agriculture products and the income from these products in Australia in 2004.
Overall, it can be seen that the largest percentage of water was spent on livestock, while the smallest was for vegetable. However, in the income chart livestock was one of the smallest. Fruit generated the most income which was closely followed by dairy.
In detail, the livestock used more water, than other categories. It used 36 percentages. Dairy and cotton were approximately equal, the former 19% the latter 15%. In addition, sugar and fruit each accounted about 10%. In contrast, rice and vegetable were the smallest with 5% and 4%.
When it comes to income from agricultural products, harvest made up about half of all income, with 44% of fruit and 5% of vegetable. Livestock and sugar both were 13 % which were equal with cotton. Rice and dairy were a quarter of the profits, with 1% and 24%.
