The following charts illustrate the electronic shopping sales for retail sectors in New Zealand. After 10 years, there was a slight fluctuation in electronic shopping, with travel leading the transactions.
Travel took the biggest proportion of online transactions in 2003 by 36% for New Zealanders. Ten years after that, it showed a declining proportion by less than 10% in 2013. The second leading online selling in 2003 was clothing, which took the proportion of 24%, similarly, it also showed a slight decrease to 16% in 2013.
In contrast to travel and clothes, the kiwis spent largely on film and music e-shopping. The spending showed a descending growth for more than one year after 10 years. Likewise, books bought from online platforms increased slightly between 2003 and 2013.
