Overall, boys show a strong preference for computer games and basketball, whereas girls are more interested in dancing and reading. Another noticeable feature is that listening to music attracts the same proportion of both genders.
Among boys, computer games are by far the most popular activity, accounting for 34% of responses. Basketball ranks second at 26%, while soccer represents 17%. Skateboarding and listening to music make up 11% and 10%, respectively. Reading is by far the least popular activity, chosen by only 2% of boys.
In contrast, dancing is the leading activity among girls, at 27%. Reading is also highly popular, comprising 21%, which is considerably higher than the figure for boys. Computer games account for 16%, followed by netball at 15% and gymnastics at 11%. Listening to music is selected by 10% of girls, the same proportion as boys
