Initially, Pourth Harbour had only one dock which held passenger ferries south to the public beach, and a lifeboat dock to the south of the passenger ferries dock. A unused castle is located to the south of Pourth Harbour having a public beach next to it. There are two car parks connected to the main road, and one shower and toilet. A small area allocated for private yachts and a bigger area for fishing boats to the east of the main road.
In present day, significant changes have been made adding another shower & toilet facility, two docks for passenger ferries giving more space for ferries to be docked. The unused castle has been constructed into a hotel having its own private beach. The fishing boats and marina (private yachts) area has been interchanged giving more space to private yachts. A road has been constructed to lead to the hotel and more cafes and shops have been opened beside the lifeboat dock.
