Overall, it can be seen that several remarkable developments took place in this coastal area. Notably, the main features are the transformation of facilities and the expansion of transportation.
In the past, the western area, with more accommodation and recreational facilities, seemed to be more developed than the eastern area, which had only several trees and a bridge serving as a connection between mainland and island. In the northwest of the island, there was a lighthouse which is adjacent to the Old Fort. There was a road known as the Old Fort road stretched from the east to the west, whose sides situated a playing field, a lighthouse land and a film studio.
At the present, several developments have taken place in Pebbleton. In the north, there are plenty of houses, which add three for a total of seven after 20 years. Film studio and Old Fort have been transformed into a flat and a children’s playground respectively to meet the demand of recreation and accommodation. Moreover, a footpath now is added, stretched from the flats to the school in mainland, rendering it easier for students to access education.
