The two maps illustrate the transformation of Grange park between 1920 and the present.
Overall, we can see that the grange park has been significantly modernized, with new children’s play area and water feature by replacing pond and fountain.
In 1920, there was a fountain in the center of the park. A stage for musicians located next to the fountain. A pond for water plants located in the northeast part of the park. Also, seats were placed around the park. There were three rose gardens distributed in several corners of the park. Moreover, a glasshouse connected to the eldon street.
At present, the layout is quite different. A rose garden has been replaced by the fountain and there are four seats around the rose garden. The stage for musicians has been replaced by an amphitheatre for concerts. The pond and glasshouse have been replaced by a cafe and a children’s play area. A new water feature has been added near the eldon street entrance with an underground car park.
