From the given image, what I can assess is that, there’s been alot of changes in the design of homes in Japan through out the years, as we can see in the images provided above, the only unchanged detail would be the entrance as its in the same place in both images, traditional or modern, other than that, everything else is quite different.

To start off in traditional jaapanese houses theres a lot more use of tatami flooring in 3 different rooms, while in modern there’s only 1 room the “traditional room” with a tatami flooring, there’s also no bedrooms in the traditional one whilst 3 individual bedrooms in the modern one, one being the main bedroom, on the other side the traditional one has 1 room with futon, there’s also the one extra bathroom in the modern house, where both the bathrooms are upstairs compared to which there’s only one bathroom in the traditional house that too on the first floor, I just noticed the stairs are the same too. Also the kitchen and living room are on big space in the modern one where as in the traditional house they are different rooms.

That’s all I could observe for now.
