The given pictures illustrate the layout of the ground floor of a specifica library in 2001 and after an enhancement in 2009
Overall, the library received several changes with new facilities and infrastructures. However, there were still some similarities share between two plans
In 2001, generally, there were four main sections which were self help, history, fiction and newspaper & periodicals located in left side, top and right side respectively. Moreover, there was an entrance situated at the mid bottom of the floor, and from which the customers could access directly to the librarian’s desk and the stairs on the right corner. And there were appearance of tables in the centre used for many purposes such as studying, reading and relaxing.
In 2009, after the development, the fiction, history and self help were reduced in size and relocated closer to the entrance, and the surface used for these facilities was exactly similar to the self help in 2001. In addition, three new function rooms, which were kitchen, economics and law were built and replaced completly the former history. Futhermore, the new places used mostly by children were constructed and situated at the top of the map, and the newspaper & periodicals place was totally removed to make way for Films & DVDs, which was adjacent to the new computers. Especially, the tables were reduced in the quantity but increasing in size.
