The maps show the differences in Sholeaton town centre from 1985 to 2015
Overall, the appearance and expansion of new facilities modernised Sholeaton town over the 30-years period. Old features were removed and replaced by higher quality options, and the transport infrastructure were improved.
In 1985, swimming pool was occupied large amount of the northern land, next to it was a small park with sparse trees. While the middle of the map, there were cafe surrounded by shops and huge shopping centre, adjacent to the mall was the houses. However, there were a few residential buildings with the view through street.Then, below shopping centre was a bus station, next to it was another shop with car park. Library was placed in the Southeast of the map, near the main road.
By 2015, the pool was removed and replaced by library, which occupied smaller space, with the extention of the park on the North of the map, moreover, trees were grown a lot after 30 years. To shops area, the fountain placed instead of cafe and surrounded with not only shop but restaurants and below it were many trees. Shopping centre was extended to be a larger mall and number of houses was increased, beside of it was a pedestrian crossing for dwellers led to the cycle line. On the Southwest of the map, there was bus station integrated into car park and the bicycle park was added with them. The last thing was business centre replaced library
