The two maps illustrate the layout of Sholeaton town in 1985 and 2015. Overall, the town became more convenient for residents by adding many public amenities and also transport infrastructure was improved for easier and safer accessibility.
Regarding 1985, a swimming pool was located in the north, with a park in the north-west. In the west of the map there were two shopping areas with a café in the centre of two shops. A shopping center was positioned in the city center, with the houses were situated in the east. The shops and car park were placed in the south-west, with a library in the south -east section. A bus station was located in the south of the map.
By 2015, Sholeaton town changed considerably. The swimming pool turned into library, while the park expanded and the number of trees in the north border of the park increased. There was added a long cycle lane to the east border of the map with pedestrian crossing between houses and cycle lane. The shopping centre was expanded, while the number of houses were increased. The café was converted into a fountain surrounded by a lot of trees and was constructed two restaurants section around these trees. The shops area that used to locate at the top of car park was removed, and planted plenty of trees. Meanwhile, the bus station was removed, and the car park was left untouched. A bicycle park was built next to the car park with the bus station at the bottom of the car park. The library was replaced by a business centre.
