The two maps illustrate the layout of Beechwood Farm in 1950 and how it has changed up to the present day. Overall, the farm has undergone significant modernization and diversification, with agricultural areas being partly replaced by facilities for tourism and renewable energy.
In 1950, the site was mainly agricultural. The northern part was occupied by sheep, while the central areas were used for fruit trees, soft fruits, and vegetables. The barn and farmhouse were situated near the river in the southeast, with a small area allocated for chickens. A simple track connected the farmhouse to the rest of the farm.
Today, however, several notable changes can be seen. While the fruit trees, soft fruits, and vegetables remain in the same locations, the sheep field has been completely transformed into a camping field, a parking lot, and solar panels. Additionally, a new road has been constructed in the southeast, leading to a row of holiday cottages, replacing part of the former farmland. The barn still exists, but new parking areas have been added to accommodate visitors. A farm shop has also been established near the main entrance, likely to serve tourists.
