The provided maps delineate the changes that have occurred in a school library after its redevelopment over five years.
In general, the library has undergone several modifications, including the transitions of some certain sections and the provision of spaces for more independent study.
Five years ago, the library featured a desk for borrowing and returning books at the southwest corner, with the meeting room and classroom located alongside. Positioned at the central front and back of the library were two sections for booking shelves, allowing students to find books more easily. In addition, the desks for computers were located at the northeast corner of the library, with the library office close beside. The central area was designated for 4 rectangle tables, providing spaces for students to read books or study.
After five years, the meeting room, the bookshelves at the back remained untouched, while the rest of the library experienced vast changes. On the left-hand side of the library, the desk which was used for borrowing and returning books has been seperated into two isolated sections, and the classroom being converted to a recording studio. On the right-hand side, the desks for computers have been changed into places for student’s laptops, with the conference room located alongside, replacing the library office. Additionally, the front area has also been designated for student’s laptops, providing more places for students to finish their assignments or search for information online. Four shared studying tables in the central area have been replaced by private studying tables, with partitions on each table, allowing more privacy for students to concentrate on their study.
