The two given maps demonstrate the proposed changes of a school library’s layout in a 5-year period until now. In general, it is apparent that the design has been dramatically developed, with the most innovation being the addition of more new facilities acompanied by the renovation of educational areas.
On the left side of the map, the classroom has been demolished to make way for an advanced recording room; similarly, there has been a transformation from the borrowing and returning desk into two separate rooms which have been borrowing and returning areas. Meanwhile, the meeting room has remained in the same position. Moreover, on the right side of the library, the desk for general computers has been converted into a new place for students’ laptops. Whilst the library office in the bottom right corner of the map has been modernised to an advanced conference zone.
In addition, in the heart of the library, there has been a construction of contemporary private tables, which has been added two more tables while the bookshelves area has stayed in the same position at the top of the map. Furthermore, the state-of-the-art desk for students’ laptops has been erected on the original of the previous bookshelves at the bottom of the library.
