The maps illustrate the transformation of the first floor of a library and the same spot between 1998 and now.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is clear that the first floor of the library has witnessed a noticeable change over the given period. Specifically, now there are more spaces for desks and study rooms, catering for the learning purposes of students.
In the center of the floor, there has been a renovation in the shape of the book display, from the rectangle-shaped bookshelf into the oval one. The study table once next to the book display has been removed and the chairs section above it has also changed its location. The first set of 4 chairs in 1998 was relocated to the eastern side of the library’s floor, replacing the computers and there was a reduction to a set of 3 chairs. The local reference books once located north of computers have been converted into new-books section over the given period. On the opposite side, while the librarian’s desk was removed and made way for the self-service desk, the study room has replaced the photocopiers, catering for more learning spaces. At the end of the floor looking from the side of the entrance, the reference books and maps section has been substituted by the coffee table, creating a new spot for students to relax while studying.
