The image shown explains how pineapples are prepared to be sold in shops.
Overall, pineapples are grown under the sun with the help of water. Once farmers have harvested the fruits, they are processed in three different ways before they are consumed.
The spiky fruit is conditioned to sprout in 28-30 degree weather. They reach up to 30 centimeters in size and 2 kilograms in weight. Within the 7 month period, farmers would spray chemicals to help the fertilization process.
The first group of harvested pineapples are coated with a thin layer of wax. The shiny, appealing ones are packaged in baskets to be shipped across the sea. Not all of the fruits get exported, as most of them are ready to be bought. Some get transported to factories where it is sliced up to tiny pieces and become canned goods. The rest are freshly served as juice. They are cut, then put through an extractor and taste best with a straw.
