Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my deep concern about the garbage collection system which has not been functioning properly in our local area. I am Kate from Woji local area in Port Harcourt.
The primary problem is that the garbage trucks no longer adhere to a fixed schedule. In some cases, waste has remained uncollected for up to ten days, resulting in overflowing bins and unpleasant odors. Furthermore, certain streets are often skipped entirely, leaving residents with no choice but to dispose of waste improperly.
This situation is not only unhygienic but is also causing significant distress among residents. The accumulation of refuse has attracted rodents and stray animals, posing serious health risks. In addition, the unsightly appearance of our streets has diminished the overall quality of life in the neighborhood.
I kindly urge the council to implement a fixed and reliable collection timetable, ensure that all areas are serviced without exception, and increase the frequency of pick-ups during peak periods.
Prompt action on this matter would be highly appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
Kate Njokwu.
