The table illustrates the sources of the police budget, while the pie charts show how the total amount of money was distributed in 2017 and 2018.Overall, the total police budget increased moderately from 2017 to 2018. In both years, the national government was the largest source of funding, and salaries accounted for the biggest expenditure, despite a slight decline in 2018.
In terms of income, the total budget rose from 304.47 million in 2017 to 3186m in 2018. Funding from the national government increased slightly from 175.5m to 177.8m. Local taxes showed a more noticeable rise, climbing from 91.2m to 102.3m , whereas, money from other sources such as grants remained relatively stable at just over 38m.
Regarding Expenditure, salaries for officers and staff made up the mojority of spending in both years, although the percentage decreased from 75% in 2017 to 69% in 2018. By contrast, spending on technology nearly doubled, going up from 8% to 14%. Expenditure on building and transport remain unchanged at 17% across the two years.
