The table and pie charts illustrate data on the police budget in a particular area of Britain for the year 2017 and 2018. The table represents the sources of the money and the charts present expenditures.
From an overall perspective, it can be clearly seen that the maximum amount of money was spent on salaries for officers and staffs for both years.
There are three sources of Police budget, where the highest amount of money was provided by the National Government, £175m in 2017 and £177.8m in 2018. Whereas, £91.2m and £102.3m of the budget arrived from local taxes in the year 2017 and 2018 respectively. There are also other sources of budget which provided approximately equal amount of money in both years. In total, the Police budget for the year 2017 is £304.7m and 2018 is £318.6m.
The money was mostly spent in salaries for officers and staffs, 75% and 69% in the year 2017 and 2018 respectively. However, buildings and transport segment consumed 17% of the budget not only in 2017 but also in 2018. Lastly, the least proportion of money was spent in technology, which is 8% in 2017 and 14% in 2018.
