Overall, what stands out from the table is that there are 8 types of modes, five of them experienced an upward trend in distance, while the distance of other three modes saw a downward trend in question. The total distance of all modes shows that there was a considerable growth over a decade.
To begin with, in 2001, a car was the most popular type of mode among all with 3199 miles, moreover, it continued being the most used in 2006 with the rise to 4806 miles. The second most popular was a local bus with 429 miles nin 2001, however, this type of transport almost halved in distance in 2006. In contrast to local bus, train experienced a significant growth in distance from 239 miles in 2001 to 366 miles in 2006.
Local distance bus was 51 miles in 2001, however it almost tripled in 4 years, ending up at 124 miles. Walking experienced a slight decrease in miles by only 18, from 2001 to 2006. The most unpopular type of mode was taxi with 13 miles in 2001, ending up at 42 miles after 4 years. In total, there was a significant increase in modes over the whole period, with 4740 miles in 2001 and 6475 miles in 2006.
