Overall, there was an upward trend in the proportion for all countries. Besides, the amount of tax collected in Sweden remained the highest position among five categories, while that for Korea was the lowest rate after several changes in the given timeframes.
Starting with countries showing a clear increase, the ratio for Sweden stood at 46% in 1975, after which it experienced a significant growth to just over 70% in 2005 and maintained the first place in this period. Additionally, 15% of the amount of tax collected was in Japan in the beginning, which subsequently went up noticeably to 32.1% and ranked second after three decades.
Considering the remaining countries, the figure for USA was at 25.1% in 1975, being roughly 10% more than that for Turkey. By 2005, both of them witnessed an ascent and reached at 27.4% in each other. Finally, the country collecting the least tax was Korea although it rose from 15.1% to 27.3% between 1975 and 2005.
