The table compares five countries, namely: Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in terms of goods consumption in 2002.
At first glance, it is clear that nations allocated most their money on food, drinks, and tobacco; while the least consumed were leisure and education.
Considering food, drinks, tobacco, among five countries, Turkey and Ireland hold the largest portions, 32.14% as the former, 28.91% as the latter. Italy shared the slight disparity in percentage with Spain, who both spent under 20%. Whereas the smallest figure belonged to Sweden.
Compared to food, drinks, tobacco; clothing and footwear were noticeably lower in all surveyed countries. The largest consumer was Italy, spared only 9% tho. The rest’s expenditure were all below 7%; particularly, Ireland, Italy, and Turkey, whose proportions were between 6% and 7%, the lowest was Sweden with precisely 5.4%.
Among the mentioned items, leisure and education were the least consumed as the recorded portions were under 5%, Turkey spent the most with 4.3%, which was nearly double Spain’s (1.98%).
