Overall, a closer look at the graph reveals that the percentage of people who accessed the Internet daily and weekly showed an upward trend, while those using the Internet 3 times a month and never surfing experienced a downward trend over the period.
With respect to the daily users, the proportion of adults using the Internet daily was 36% in 2006. This figure grew up steadily to 45% in 2008 before peaking at 72% by the end of the period in Europe. In contrast, the percentage of grown people who never accessed the Internet was high at 34% in 2006, but it plummeted to a half of initial level in 2008 and decreased dramatically at just 1% at the end of the period.
Regarding the people who surfed the Internet on a weekly basis, there was only 15% in 2006 and increased significantly to 29% in the next 2 years. However, this figure then dropped slightly to 22% in 2010. Meanwhile, the percentage of individuals who accessed the Internet 3 times a month started at 15% and declined by 10% every 2 years. Finally, it ended with 5% in 2010.
