THESE graphs provide information regarding means of transport; the first image illustrates the pollution produced by six form of vehicle, the second one shows the expenditures invested by the government in seven types of transportation.
The first figure underlines the impact on the environment of each vehicle; firstly air pollution has a massive impact with above 350 grams per kilometre, followed by passenger cars with 150 grams, 60 by buses, 50 by maritime and rail, and finally coaches with 40.
The other image illustrates how the tax payers’ money are spent in percentage; the 52% of funds are dedicated to roads, the 31% in railways, the 10% in public transport, the 2% in ports, and just the 1% in inland waterways, airports and intermodal.
Regarding the mode of transport, the one in which government invests the most is clearly the car, which could seem the mean with the most emissions, bus in reality is the airplane.
