Overall, while the amount of oil production of Chad and Somalia experienced an upward trend, Congo saw an opposite and the figure for Nigeria fluctuated widely.

Congo was the country that produced the most oil in the beginning with 275,000 barrels per day, after that, it underwent a significant decline in the last year of this period to reach 203,000 barrels. The amount of oil production of Nigeria started at the lower level at 205000 barrels before it fell dramatically in the next 2 years to reach 201,000 barrels in 2001 and 190,000 barrels in 2002. After this decrease, it recovered quickly, reaching 210,000 barrels in 2003 and peaking at 213,000 by the end of this period and becoming the country with the most oil in this year
Chad started to produce oil in 2003 with 8,000 barrels, the figure rose rapidly to reach 50,000 barrels in 2004. The number of oil barrels of Somalia started with 5,000, and this number increased stability to reach a similar number with Chad at 50,000 barrels in 2004
