The chart presents the estimated population of the world (in millions) in every 500 years from year 0 to 2000.
Overall, every continent (North and South America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Oceania, World) showed higher figures in the final year. Asia was accounted as the dominant country with significant population, continously exceeding all continent, whereas Oceania became the least populated mainland.
Asia figures were recorded initially at 106.7 millions and experienced a substantial rise to reach it’s maximum by 3419.0 millions in 2000. By contrast, the number of population in Oceania were thw lowest among all figures shown, although they gained a massive population from 0.3 millions at year 0 to 26.0 million by the end of 2000.
An evident difference can be seen between the number of people in continents of Asia and Oceania, as Asia recorded significantly higher number than Europe (which wa sthe second largest). Meanwhile, the population in North and South America, Africa, Middle East followed a similar growth, with each country experincing at around 15 times value from year 0 to 2000.
