Looking at the details, there was an sharp increase in Germany, with 109% change, from 11 million to 23 million. The number of arrivals to China rose dramatically from 22 million to 34 million, and this was followed by Turkey, which grew from 33 million to 45 million. The proportion of tourists in China was higher than Turkey, with 55% and 33% rise respectively.
While France did not see any change, with just 76 million arrivals in both years, there was a decline in Hong Kong from 10 million to 9 million with minus 11% change. The US, Spain, and Italy experienced a slight growth, with only 1 million rise. In 2009, the number of tourists was 55 million in the UK, which then grew to 57 million in 2010.
