Overall, France was a leading country relating to tourists arrivals in two years, whereas Hong Kong recorded the lowest figures. Notably, while the shares increased significantly in the other eight countries over time, it decreased in Hong Kong, with the most dramatic growth seen in Germany.
In 2009, both Spain and the United Kingdom saw a similar number of visitors, at 55 million, while in the USA and france these shares constituted 66 million and 76 million, respectively. However, in the first two countries overall changes accounted for 1.8% and 3.6%. by 2010, the number of arrivals stood out similar figures as previous year in france, whereas it increased by 1 million points in the USA, it made up 1.5% average. As well as, these numbers in Italy increased by 1 million from 44 million to 45 million, accounting for 2.3% growth.
Among the remaining four countries, Turkey showed consistent growth in both years, rose by 33 percentage points, while Hong Kong decreased from 10 million to 9 million, which had experienced the lowest changes, decreased by 11%.
Meanwhile, in Germany the number of international tourists made up 11 million in 2009, it significantly increased to 23 million by the end of the period. Although its arrivals remained far below the other nations, its relative growth was the most significant, constituting 109%. These figures in China rose by 55% from 22 million to 34 million.
