The visuals show the number of visitors to the Memphis Museum and survey results of their satisfaction the year before and after its refurbishment.
Overall, it is clear from the visuals that both the total attendance and levels of visitor satisfaction improved clearly after the museum’s refurbishment.
According to what is shown, the museum welcomed 68,000 visitors before the refurbishment, a figure which climbed to 89,000 in the year after—an increase of 21,000 people.
In terms of visitor satisfaction, before refurbishment, only 13.2 per cent rated their experience as “very good”, but this increased to 30.6% the year after. Similarly, the “good” ratings improved from 30.8 per cent to 45.9 per cent. Conversely, the share of bad and very bad ratings fell sharply, from 42.9% to 12.2% and from 8.8% to 5.1%. The percentage of non-responses also rose slightly, from 4.4% before refurbishment to 6.1% afterwards. The changes to the museum were followed by a marked increase in attendance and a notable shift toward more positive feedback.
