The given table compares the age distribution, average income (measured in $), and the proportion of the population below the poverty line in three states of the USA: California, Utal, and Florida. Overall, as can be seen, the average income in Utal is significantly lower than in the others.
To begin with, in all states, the percentage of people over 60 is lower than that of people younger than 18, except Florida, which has the opposite pattern. Starting with the population of under 18 year-olds, the highest proportion is allocated to Utal, at 28%, while in other states it is lower than 15%. Moving to over 60 year olds, Florida has the greatest rate at 23%, followed by California at 13% and Utal at 8%.
Moving to income and poverty, California has the highest amount of income at about 23,000$, which is quite similar to Florida at 22,000$ per person. Utal’s average earning per person is considerably lower, at 17,000$ and also it has the lowest rate in people under the poverty line, at less than 10%, while in other states it’s higher at 12% and 16% for Florida and California, respectively.
