The table compares three states in USA in terms of age structure, average income per person, and the proportion of the population living in poverty.
Overall, Utal stands out with the youngest population, whereas Florida has the oldest. While California enjoys the highest income levels, it also experiences the highest poverty rate, suggesting that wealth distribution may be uneven across the state.
Looking first at the age distribution, more than a quarter of Utal’s population (28%) is under 18, almost doubled the figure for Florida (16%) and significantly higher than that of California (17%). In contrast, Florida records by far the largest elderly population with 23% aged over 60. This proportion is nearly three times greater than in Utah, where only 8% fall into this age category. California again lies between the two (13%).
Turning to income and poverty levels, California takes the lead at average income per person at $23,000, slightly ahead of Florida at $22,000, while Utah reports the lowest at $17,000. Despite earning less, Utah demonstrates the lowest poverty rate (9%). On the other hand, California, despite its financial advantage, has the largest proportion of people living below the poverty line (16%), compared with only 12% in Florida.
