The table illustrates the data on health expending by people in five various countries in 2002.
Overall, the USA was the country where the total number of spending on health was the highest among all the five countries. Moreover, there was five percent difference in total spending between all the countries, where Germany stood at the second position; while, Japan remained at bottom the last place.
In 2002, with the spending of 17% and 20% by public and private sector, respectively, the USA made itself as the highest spender in health, which was around 40%. Germany had the highest number of spending on health by public among all the countries, which was around 18%. However, the number was low in private spending compare to the USA, with only around 15%; totalling to 35% because of that Germany was the second highest spender after the USA on health.
In France, public spending was 15% and private spending was 12%, and the total spending was around 30%. In addition, the number of spending on health by public was similar in both Japan and Italy, which was around 10%. Although, public spending was similar in comparision in these two countries, the private spending had 3% difference, which was 5% and 8% for Japan and Italy respectively.
