Overall, there is an increase in locally caught fish and imported fish. However, local fish amounts are extremely high compared to imported varieties showing that Perth mostly relies on home-grown products. There is also a rise in the total fish values over the 10 years.
Fish sourced within the area has surged from 2677.7MT in 2004 to 5031.9MT in 2014. A hike is observed in the amounts to 8136.2MT after which it dips to 5085.7 in 2011 and remains in this range. The imports rose from 464.5MT to 782.7MT over the 10 years. A surge occurred in 2007 where the amount grew from 309.9MT to 830.5MT within a year and continued to grow until it reached 1104.1MT and remained at this value for the next five years only to fall to 782.7 in 2014. The total values have drastically fluctuated over the decade, starting from 3142.3MT in 2004, peaking to 8949MT in 2009 and then declining to 5814.7MT in 2014.
