The table illustrates the number of exports in Hong Kong and how they have changed in percentages over 2009 and 2010.
Overall, the number of exports in all categories except clothing and manufacturing increased in 2010, while metals was by far the highest changes in their percentages. In addition, significant changes also took place in telecommunication.
In details, the total number of exports increased from 32 billion to 38.4 billion with 20% of changes. In 2009, equipment and telecommunication were the two largest exports at 10.3 billion and 7.9 billion, respectively. Exporting of clothing ranked in third place at 6 billion, followed by manufacturing 5.5 billion. In contract, metals were the less common export with only 2.3 billion.
By 2010, telecommunication became the most popular export at 12.7 billion with 61% changes. Exporting in equipment also rosed to 13% and made 11.6 billion. Following this, metals experienced the highest changes with 122% and there were 5.1 billion of exports in 2010. However, clothing and manufacturing decreased to 5 billion and 4 billion, the former declined with 17% and the latter 27%.
