The table gives information on the number of full-time Indian students at six different UK universities in the academic years 2020/21 and 2021/22. It is clear that all universities experienced a rise in full-time students from India, with Sheffield University witnessing the highest percentage increase, while the reverse is true for BPP University.
Looking at the table in more detail, Sheffield University saw a significant rise of 187.7% in Indian students reaching 2.345 in the first academic year. Likewise, Coventry University had the largest absolute rise, with numbers more than doubling from 2,390 to 5,290, adding 2,900 students (121.3%). Another university that experienced an increase of over 100% was the University of Leicester, where the number of Indian students more than doubled, climbing from 1,175 to 2,390.
Turning to the other remaining universities, all three of them saw an increase of under 100% in the number of Indian students from 2020/21 to 2021/22. The University of Greenwich experienced an increase of 2085 (84.9%) and 1340 (69.6%), respectively. In contrast, the number of Indian students in BBP university recorded the smallest percentage growth at 46.8%, increasing from 3,505 to 5,145.
