Overall, the refurbishment had a positive impact on the museum. The total number of visitors increased, while the proportions of people who were satisfied or very satisfied rose considerably. In contrast, the percentages of dissatisfied and very dissatisfied visitors declined significantly.
According to the table, the number of visitors increased from 74,000 in the year before the refurbishment to 92,000 in the following year, representing an increase of 18,000 visitors.
Before the refurbishment, only 15% of visitors were very satisfied, while 30% were satisfied. By comparison, 40% were dissatisfied and 10% were very dissatisfied. The remaining 5% gave no response.
After the refurbishment, visitor satisfaction improved markedly. The proportion of very satisfied visitors more than doubled to 35%, and the figure for satisfied visitors rose to 40%. Meanwhile, the percentage of dissatisfied visitors fell sharply from 40% to 15%, and those who were very dissatisfied decreased from 10% to 5%. The proportion of respondents who gave no response remained unchanged at 5%
