The use given to a variety of transport ways in a european city in 1990, 2000, and 2010 is described by the table presented above.
From a general perspective, it can be clearly seen that the prefered way of transportation is the car, followed relatively close by the bus category, and last on the bottom of the table other modes with similar percentage of popularity among the inhabitants: bicycle, train, and walking.
It can also be concluded from the statistics shown, that the car category, which always has accounted for more than one third of the total participation, it seems to have exhibited a trend of continous growth throughout the time period. In a similar manner, the number of people travelling by train has seen a slightly rise in percentage.
In contrast, it is evident that the habitants choosing buses have reduced gradually in 2010 by around 10% the percentage presented in 1990. While not at the same rate, people cycling and walking have also been less common at the end of the period of study with a reduction in percentage of 5% and 2% respectively.
