The table compares how the proportion of inhabitants in five different age groups who rode bicycles changed in a particular town in 2011.
Overall, the figure for young residents who cycled in both genders recorded the highest figure, while the opposite pattern was observed in the proportion of people aged 45-59 who rode bicycles. In addition, females often took part in outdoor activities, especially cycling, more than men.
Regarding the 0-9 age group, the percentage of females who took part in cycling activity accounted for 51.4%, compared to 50.3% for males. Moreover, the percentage of women aged 10-17 who rode bicycles was 42.2%, which was nearly two times higher than that of men, at 24.6%. In terms of the 18-39 age group, females made up 17.1%, while males recorded merely 8%.
The percentage of females aged 40-59 who cycled was 12.3%, which was higher than that of males, at 8%. Similarly, the proportion of elderly females who rode bicycles constituted 18.5%, as opposed to 13.2% for males.
