The table shows the proportion of the workforce and the managers who are women in five different countries, namely Australia, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Japan and the United States.
Overall, the percentage of women’s labour force participation is quite high in all countries except Egypt, while the highest proportion of women management positions is Australia and United State
In terms of workforce participation, Japan has the highest proportion of women at 48%, followed closely by the United States, at 46% of employees. In contrast, Egypt lags behind significantly, where only 20% of labour workforce are women. In two remaining countries, Australia and Sri Lanka records equal proportions, ranging from 41% to 42%
In the management positions, Australia and United State shares the highest percentage of female managers, at 43% each. The figure for Sri Lanka is only 9%, half that for Japan at 17%. Finally, Egypt has the second lowest percentage of female managers, with just 12% of managerial positions held by women.
