The table illustrates a report of a 2002 survey conducted by an airline, comparing 400 passengers of male and female in an economy class business across different age groups and various in-flight preferences.
Overall, the seat/ legroom is by far the most preferred one, followed by that attendant service being considered the second most important service. Movies and in-flight entertainment are opted less in number by both genders, regardless of the age groups, while other services are still somewhat essential.
In the female section, it is reported that women in the age bracket of 25-45 rated 34 for attendant service, while above 45 rated 35 for seat / leg room. Both middle-aged females and those who are more than 45 give less attention to the movies and / in-flight entertainment, which accounts 10 and 4, respectively. In comparison, 30 is rated for seat / leg room and attendant service by the young and elderly women, respectively. Surprisingly, meals and drinks for middle-aged and old women differ by 5 as youngsters seem to show no interest in that either.
In the men section, both young men and elderly men rated the highest for seat / leg room, accounting for 39 and 46. Next to that, the attendant services are almost equal for all men, that is 26 and 27. Similar to women’s rating, men also show less consideration for entertainment, which only accounts for 14 and 4. Finally, the meals and drinks differ by only 4 to the middle-aged men.
